Welcome!

If you are looking for a relaxed and peaceful Lake District break why not come and stay at Birk How Country Cottage ?

Birk How can be found in the village of Eskdale Green and is an ideal base for a family or group of friends to explore the Western Lake District. The house is in an elevated position and offers spectacular views across to Birker Fell and down the Eskdale valley. There are numerous walks for you to enjoy and Wastwater, our nearest Lake, is less than a 10 minute drive away.

Birk How is furnished in traditional Lake District style complete with open fires and a wood burning stove. The Cottage will comfortably sleep 6.

This part of the Lake District is less commercialised than other areas. Alfred Wainwright, the famous Lakeland author described Eskdale as one of "Lakelands loveliest valleys" and if you have not visited this part of the Lake District before I am sure you will enjoy your stay.
